Great insights John. Our Chicago market hasn't taken the hit that other urban areas have. I've seen a bit of a bump in the market since the election, and have hopes for a more stable 2009!

The current financial crisis has a great impact on the housing sector, which is looking sicker by the day. The market will take time to overcome the economic crisis. Challenges are there but with some smart moves, homebuilders can hold their position in the market. By lowering the home prices Realtors in Illinois are inviting perspective home buyers and this has shown an encouraging rise in sales figure. These or some other positive steps will help the real estate market to get pick ups. Lets hope for the best.
